November and December 2026 · Primary 3 to Primary 6 · Bukit Timah, Singapore

Year-End Maths Holiday Programmes

Two programmes this year end. One works on the topics your child found hard. One teaches next year’s topics early.

Math Recovery runs in November, planned from your child’s own exam paper. Math Headstart runs in December, on the key topics of the next level.

MathArchery runs two year-end maths holiday programmes in Bukit Timah, Singapore. Math Recovery is for Primary 3, 4 and 5 students. Teacher Elaine reviews your child’s marked end-of-year paper and plans two-hour sessions around the topics your child is weaker in, on weekday afternoons from 2 to 20 November 2026. Math Headstart is for children moving up to Primary 4, 5 or 6 in 2027. It teaches the key topics of the new level over three days, Wednesday to Friday, between 2 and 18 December 2026. Both are open to any primary school student.

Recovery or Headstart?

Recovery looks back at this year. Headstart looks forward to next year. If this year’s paper showed weak areas, start with Recovery, because next year’s topics build on this year’s.

Why use the year-end holiday for maths?

Nothing new is coming. The exams are over, so your child has room to work on one idea at a time without keeping up with new lessons as well.

The paper is still fresh. A marked paper from a few weeks ago shows us what your child was thinking. That is much easier to work with than a memory of a hard topic.

Maths builds on itself. Each level assumes the one before it. Time spent in the holidays on last year’s weak topics, or next year’s new ones, is time the new school term does not have.

Sometimes it just takes something to click in a child’s mind. The holidays give your child the time for that, and a child can improve from there.

Which of these sounds like your child?

The tag on each card shows which programme fits.

Recovery

The paper came back with marks lost on topics your child had practised

That usually points to an idea that was never quite secure, rather than to carelessness.

Recovery

You keep hearing the word careless

It is worth finding out whether the marks really went to slips, or to something underneath them.

Recovery

Maths was fine until this year

Primary 4 and Primary 5 ask a lot more of a child. It usually comes down to a few topics, and the paper shows us which ones.

Headstart

Your child did well and wants harder questions

Headstart gives a strong student next year’s topics, including non-routine questions.

Headstart

Everyone says the next level is a big jump

Meeting the new topics once before school teaches them takes the surprise out of January.

Headstart

PSLE is next year

P6 Headstart covers Average, Ratio, Circles and Algebra, with questions from past PSLE papers.

Teacher Elaine Goh, founder of MathArchery

Who teaches the holiday programmes

Teacher Elaine teaches both programmes herself. She has taught Primary, Secondary, IP and IB Mathematics for over eight years, and holds a Specialist Diploma in Specific Learning Differences. She has been through two rounds of PSLE as a mother, with two sons who each learn differently.

She has run year-end programmes for primary students for years. The children who get the most out of them are not the ones who revise the most. They are the ones who worked on the right thing.

Questions parents ask

Should my child join Recovery or Headstart?

Recovery is for the topics your child is weaker in this year. Headstart is for the key topics of next year’s level. If this year’s paper showed weak areas, start with Recovery, because next year’s topics build on this year’s. If you are not sure, send us the paper and we will tell you what we see.

Can my child do both?

Yes, and several families do. Recovery runs in November and Headstart runs in December, so the two do not clash. Recovery comes first.

When are the dates?

Math Recovery runs on weekday afternoons from 2 to 20 November 2026, on the days you choose, with December dates on request. Math Headstart runs Wednesday to Friday on 2 to 4, 9 to 11 and 16 to 18 December 2026.

What does each one cost?

Math Recovery is $90 for each two-hour session, and most children start with three. Math Headstart is $360 for the three days for P5 and P6, and $280 for P4. Both fees cover the lessons and all materials, with no registration fee.

How big are the classes?

We keep our holiday groups small, the same way we run our weekly classes, so that Teacher Elaine can give each child attention. Places in each run are limited.

Can my child join if they are not a MathArchery student?

Yes. Both programmes are open to any primary school student.

Who teaches the holiday programmes?

Teacher Elaine teaches them. She has taught Primary, Secondary, IP and IB Mathematics for over eight years, and holds a Specialist Diploma in Specific Learning Differences.

Where are the classes held?

At our studio, 9 King Albert Park #02-22, in KAP Mall, Bukit Timah. King Albert Park MRT (DT6) is about 10 minutes’ walk away, largely sheltered.
